As a Structural Engineer, the candidate will join a collaborative team to develop innovative space vehicle and structures solutions for multiple projects. The individual will be responsible for designing spacecraft and component structures capable of withstanding ground, launch and space environments. In particular, he/she will support the design from the concept level up to the design verification/testing, through design reviews. It is expected that the individual will have an ability and desire to learn, grow and discover continuously.
Key Responsibilities Develop FEM models to assess and verify structural requirements, ensuring compliance with industry and company design standards. Create and optimize structural models to align with experimental testing, enhancing model accuracy through correlation with test data. Work with a multidisciplinary team to identify the key features of the structure design and recommend improvement strategies, from concept stages up to production and launch phases. Participate in cross-team discussions about hardware requirements generation, analysis, implementation and verification strategy. Design test fixtures and MGSE suitable for conducting mechanical tests. Draft and review technical documentation such as analysis results, test procedures and reports. Support the planning and conduct Environmental Test Campaigns. Requirements MS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or equivalent degree. Minimum of 2 years' experience in similar roles. Proven ability in working with FEA software (MSC Nastran preferred). Strong mechanical background. Basic ability to work with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks preferred). Knowledgeable and proficient in applying advanced engineering principles. Must understand solid mechanics and materials science principles in conjunction with static and dynamic launch environment load definition. Ability to produce technical documentation. Good communication with team members. Ability to provide and receive constructive criticism. Proficient use of written and oral English language. Preferred Qualifications Previous working experience within the Aerospace industry. Previous experience with vibration testing of components and spacecraft systems along with data post-processing and report generation. Previous experience in mechanical design and proficiency in using CAD software is a plus. Benefits Salary and benefits are market competitive. Position expected to be filled as soon as possible.
