The Context
Our client is one of the leading multinational companies operating in the Medical Devices sector, characterized by excellence-oriented, diversified, and multi-site production. The company has entrusted us with the search for a Strategic Buyer.
The Role
Conduct independent analyses and monitor global procurement markets to anticipate risks and opportunities.
Manage international procurement activities for both ongoing and new projects, optimizing procurement processes and resource efficiency.
Identify, assess, and develop suppliers, supporting qualification processes and fostering strong partnerships to ensure supply chain continuity and reliability.
Negotiate pricing and drive cost reduction strategies, including "make or buy" evaluations with a focus on vertical integration and maximizing company value.
Draft and negotiate purchasing contracts (including framework agreements), safeguarding company interests and mitigating risks.
Support supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and expected performance. This role focuses on monitoring field performance rather than conducting quality audits.
The Requirements
University degree in Economics, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
Knowledge of medical device sector dynamics (preferred but not mandatory) and supply chain operations in regulated environments.
Proven experience in similar roles, ideally in international contexts, with project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Background in the medical, mechanical, or related industries, with experience in managing high-precision components.
Strong negotiation, communication, and teamwork skills, with a results-oriented and problem-solving mindset.
Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities, coupled with proactive, innovative, and process-optimization skills.
Willingness to travel (approximately 25% of the time), including short trips to sites to support local projects and supplier management.
Proficiency in English (written and spoken) for negotiations and communication with international suppliers and stakeholders.
Ability to proactively manage supplier relationships while maintaining service quality.
Travel accounts for 25% of working time, with trips primarily in Europe (3–4 days per month).
