If you have any questions about this vacancy or the application process, please email us at: ****** Hauptaufgaben Incumbent performs a variety of duties involved in the ordering, receiving, handling, marking, preparing, displaying and maintaining stock levels of resale items, to include the operation of a forklift.
Works in one or more departments within the store, e.g., grocery, produce, etc.
Performs a variety of tasks such as price marking, shelf stock, replenishment, allocation, rotation, receiving and displaying items for sale in a commissary store.
Items include, but are not limited to, canned foods, juices, cereals, dairy products and the like.
Displays merchandise in a neat and orderly manner.
Visually observes merchandise for proper stock levels, safe stacking of items and cases, uncluttered aisles, removal of broken items or containers, proper temperature for refrigerated displays, and return of items moved by customers to proper place.
Replenishes depleted shelf stock with incoming items or by obtaining stock from storage area and transporting to shelving or display area.
Arranges stock on shelves or display counters in a neat and orderly manner, by commodity, brand and size, and rotates stock on basis of pull dates and freshness.
Continually checks for damaged, spoiled or out-of-date merchandise and brings to the attention of the supervisor and/or food inspector.
Determines amount of shelf space requirements for new items or increased quantities.
Estimates requirements for perishable and semi-perishable food items.
Consults purchase agreement requirements, making necessary adjustments to delivery orders.
Participates in inventories.
Answers customer!|s questions regarding location and price of specific items or whether certain items are in stock.
Determines customer preferences and discusses with supervisor for planning purposes.
Breaks down cases as they are emptied and removes cardboard and garbage from the store.
Loads cardboard into baler and activates.
Assists in tying-off completed bales of cardboard and removes from baler as required.
Cleans-up broken and spilled items and cleans any item(s) in display cases that require cleaning prior to stocking.
Cleans shelves/display areas on a regular basis.
Performs all sanitation tasks in accordance with DeCA directives.
Bags items, hands out flyers and/or coupons and assists patrons in the correct processing of their orders.
Retrieve carts from the parking lot.
Uses a Portable Data Entry Device to determine product order requirements according to case pack, shelf allocation and item movement.
Transmits requirements to DeCA Interim Business System (DIBS) computer for electronic transmission to supply sources.
Verifies shipments by checking shipping documents, making proper notation on it and identifies obvious spoilage or damage, overages or shortages.
Assembles items grouping material according to receiving vouchers and, as necessary, into subgroups based on property class, condition, and type of transaction.
Reports differences indicated on the receiving report and amounts received.
Signs receiving reports and identifies any other discrepancies.
Selects and sets-up proper storage areas, to include cold storage for material within the general warehousing plan considering size, shape, quantity, use, and possibility of damage, deterioration, and contamination to or from other items.
Stores, stacks, and palletizes without instructions on methods or procedures to use.
Operates a forklift capable of lifting loads weighing up to 5 metric tons to a height of 4 meters.
Regularly uses a forklift, pallet jack or other similar device in offloading trucks and vans of commissary subsistence items.
May also use forklift to move merchandise form offloading area to a pre-positioning or holding area for later movement to the commissary sales floor area.
NOTE: Incumbent frequently lifts or moves heavy boxes and may also be exposed to differences in temperature in storing or obtaining items in refrigerated rooms.
Tour of duty will be 20 hours per week, as follows: Mon 12:30-16:30, Tue 14:15-18:15, Wed 14:15-18:15, Thu OFF, Fri 14:15-18:15, Sat 08:00-12:00, and Sun OFF.

Knowledge of the English language is desirable.
