Job Title: Data ScientistLocation: RietiPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Data Scientist will integrate into the local Manufacturing Science (MS) department at Takeda Rieti, reporting directly to the Investigation & Data Science Lead.
This role is pivotal in managing and advancing local digital data science projects based on priority areas such as yield enhancement, real-time monitoring, and predictive process performance.
The successful candidate will expand and unlock new insights for effective process oversight and improvement optimizations, utilizing techniques such as descriptive statistics, visualization, and statistical process control.
The role also emphasizes fostering the development of automated pipelines for real-time data retrieval and analysis.
Collaboration is key; the Data Scientist will gather and identify local data science opportunities in partnership with local teams, DD&T, Engineering, Quality, and the global GMS data science community.
This position serves as a crucial link between local and global data science efforts.
Responsibilities include managing reporting activities, particularly the deployment of Power BI dashboards for yield and process monitoring, and supporting participation in the global/functional/local GMS data science community.
The role also involves driving necessary local training initiatives.
Additionally, the Data Scientist will translate business challenges into actionable insights and effectively communicate findings to stakeholders, ensuring continuous improvement of digital data repositories.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: The ideal candidate will possess strong mathematical and statistical acumen, with proven experience in handling large datasets and developing/implementing machine learning and deep learning algorithms using major frameworks.
Essential coding skills in Python/R are required, along with proficiency in database languages such as SQL and a solid understanding of data models and databases.
Experience with time series data analysis is preferred, and familiarity with cloud computing is advantageous.
Proven knowledge of business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Qlik) is essential, alongside strategic enterprise thinking and innovative approaches to enhance patient service and build trust.
The candidate should have extensive capabilities to translate business needs into data analytics concepts and vice versa, along with project management skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to influence others, are critical.
The Data Scientist will act as a catalyst for raising awareness and contributing to the digital transformation, demonstrating analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
EDUCATION: A Master's degree/MBA and/or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or other scientific disciplines is required, along with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in data analysis or equivalent academic credentials.
Hands-on experience in applying and executing artificial intelligence, deep learning, machine learning, big data, and digital technologies, coupled with respective programming knowledge, is essential.
Contributions to GitHub repositories, participation in competitions such as Kaggle, and involvement in data challenges or hackathons are advantageous.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Willingness to travel within Takeda sites is expected.
