Post Context/Post Summary The Joint Logistics Support Group Headquarters commands and controls assigned logistic, engineer and medical units for the execution of JTF's operational level plan.The Command Group provides general staff support, coordination, management, direction, guidance and leadership to the JLSG HQ staff.The Office of Chief of Staff is responsible for the oversight and management of all JLSG HQ activity in support of operational and framework roles and tasks.The incumbent is responsible for Public Affairs (PA) in support of an extended knowledge of the NATO 2030 Agenda.
Provides information and gives advice to the CG and the JLSGNP HQ Staff on all PA related matters.
Proposes the main messages to be used in the JLSGNP communications regarding the 2030 Agenda.2.
Duties Public Affairs Advisor to the COM.Provides information and gives advice to the CG and the rest of HQ Staff on all PA related matters.Acts as HQ official releasing authority for PA as directed by COM, DCOM or COS.Stimulates media and public relations programs in support of HQ JLSGNP mission.Advises other staff agencies on PA activities and provides information material as necessary.Establishes and maintains liaison with designated media representatives.Maintains liaison with other HQs in PA matters.Assesses trends in media and informs CG and HQ Staff on developments in public opinion.Acts as the spokesperson for COM when required.The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties as directed by COM, Deputy COM and COS JLSG HQ.When required acts as reporter, photographer and videographer.3.
Special Requirements and Additional Duties The employee may be required to perform a similar range of duties elsewhere within the organisation at the same grade without there being any change to the contract.The incumbent must be prepared to act as the HQ representative for all STRATCOM related issues, as directed by the Command Group.The incumbent may be required to undertake TDY assignments both within and without NATO's boundaries and be willing to work unsocial hours.The work is normally performed in a Normal NATO office working environment / Secure office environment with artificial light and air (e.G.
Bunker).

Essential Qualifications Education and Professional Experience:University Degree in communication, journalism, public relations, political science, or related field, and 2 years of function-related experience, OR, Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation, with 4 years of post-related experience.Minimum 2 years of experience in Journalism and reporting, writing commentaries and feature stories of public interest.Minimum experience of 2 years in the professional field of managing and conducting Public Affairs programs.Language:English - SLP 3333 - (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing).
NOTE: The work both oral and written in this post and in this Headquarters as a whole is conducted mainly in English.5.
Desirable Qualifications a.
Education and Professional Experience:Master's Degree in a job related fieldWorked previously in a NATO environment.Media experience within NATO or other international or governmental organizations.Previous working experience with media.Previous duties as an Admin/Coordination Officer.b.
Training:NATO Stratcom Foundation Course (STC-ST-26885) provided by NATO - School Oberammergau (NSO)Personal Attributes The incumbent must be a self-starter, mature, experienced individual, able to anticipate problems and analyze a wide range of complex and dissimilar situations.
Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with a wide range of personnel from NATO countries.
Integrity, credibility, attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
Must be able to multi-task, organize and prioritize under time pressure and conflicting tasks.
The job requires constant communication with key representatives within and outside of JLSGNP in order to be effective.
The incumbent will be expected to influence decisions and present balanced arguments regarding the best methods of communication, advising the COM/COS as required.Professional Contacts Internal contacts include all levels up to and including Branch Head and up to Chief of Staff level.
External contacts include higher headquarters, other headquarters, including Host Nation organizations and suppliers.
Internal and external contacts are for information, negotiations and discussions.Contribution to Objectives Incumbent supports the Chief of Staff in their contribution to originating and providing guidance and assessment that controls the decision of the NATO authorities.There are no reporting responsibilities.
This post reports to: Chief of Staff - OF-5.CONTRACT The successful candidate will be offered a 3-year definite duration contract within the NATO Agenda 2030.
On expiry of this term, the PLN will exceptionally be considered for extension, be deleted, or absorbed into the ceiling, pending approval.
