Together with our partners and participants, we cultivate communities where people are progressively seen, accepted, challenged, and supported.GENERAL SUMMARYThe Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting policies.St. Matthew's House is a faith based 501(c)(3) charitable organization that exists to transform lives in a spiritual environment that is both compassionate and disciplined.ESSENTIAL TASKS:Ensure daily transactions are recorded timely and accuratelyPrepare journal entriesComplete reconciliations of general ledger accountsAccount analysis and reportingPerform month end and year end close tasksAssists in monthly reconciliation of designated funds and projectsPrepare and file sales and property tax returnsAssist with annual audit schedulesAid in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelinesSupport management in completing special projects as assignedRequirementsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Degree in Accounting or Business related major, or related experience5+ years in accounting field, Non-profit experience preferredAbility to read computer screensProficiency in Accounting systems, Excel, and WordAdvanced mathematical, Excel and system reporting skills highly desiredMust be able to handle sensitive matters in a diplomatic and collaborative mannerStrong attention to detail and communication skills are necessary #J-18808-Ljbffr
