Right now, we are looking for a Performance Test Engineer to join our team!
What you will be doing: As a Performance Test Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of our complex ecosystem, working with a diverse range of cutting-edge technologies. Your role will involve designing, implementing, and executing performance and load tests to evaluate the scalability of our online video streaming platform and the required cloud resources. You'll also play a key part in analyzing test results, identifying performance bottlenecks, and providing detailed reports to the management. You will get the chance to: Develop and manage performance and load tests using K6 or other technologies like JMeter. Execute distributed tests using AWS ECR and Apache Taurus. Analyze test data to define new use cases that simulate user behavior and implement them as K6 tests. Analyze data through Grafana, Splunk, logs, and other tools provided by AWS and MongoAtlas to identify issues and open detailed tickets. Create Grafana and Splunk dashboards to monitor platform performance and extract insights related to CPU, memory, garbage collector, network, database connections, request rates, response times, etc. Be responsible for the implementation of observability using OpenTelemetry and Splunk. Produce reports to share progress with management and align with defined OKRs. What would help you succeed: Experience with performance and load testing tools (e.g., K6, JMeter).Good knowledge of REST APIs, networking fundamentals, and HTTP protocol.Good understanding of SQL and/or NoSQL databases, as well as the ability to write queries.Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS).Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, OpenTelemetry).Good level of English.Nice to have: Experience in complex software architecture development in a web environment.Good knowledge of microservices architecture in a containerized environment.Experience with serverless technologies (Knative, AWS Lambda, etc.).Knowledge of queue or event streaming brokers (e.g., Kafka, AWS SQS, RabbitMQ).Knowledge of test frameworks and methodologies (e.g., TDD).Experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., SCRUM).At Globant we believe that an inclusive culture and a diverse environment make us stronger.
