Responsibilities
Main responsibilities are the Continuous improvement of DPEM (Drug Product External Manufacturing) aiming at enabling Operational Excellence including evolution of business processes through simplification, standardization and digitalization. Also the role will have the responsibility to develop and influence strategies related to Drug Product External Manufacturing and will enable innovation and an outside-in perspective on manufacturing best practices through external focus.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
Continuous improvement and Operational Excellence:
Develop and implement operational excellence strategies to improve external manufacturing processes, increase organizational effectiveness and efficiency, and maximize value.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma methodologies to enhance overall external manufacturing performance.
External Manufacturing Strategy:
Develop and drive the DPEM strategic plan.
Develop external contract manufacturer portfolio strategies to ensure alignment with company long-term goals and objectives.
Digitalization:
Develop and drive the digitalization and automation strategy for DPEM in collaboration with Tech at Lilly.
Collaborate with external partners and Tech@Lilly on digitalization efforts.
Leadership and Collaboration:
Serve as a core member of the DPEM Lead Team.
Lead and manage the DPEM Continuous Improvement team.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in STEM or business administration field.
10+ years in Drug Products Making Medicines.
Strong leadership and relationship skills.
Ability to identify process improvement opportunities.
Strategic and analytical mindset.
Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Dynamic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Good coaching and mentoring skills.
Additional Skills/Preferences
Experience working at a manufacturing site.
Experience as a Lead Team member of an external manufacturing team.
Experience managing CMOs.
Experience in Operational Excellence Programs.
Experience in Manufacturing Strategy.
External network in pharma industry.
Candidates should be open to relocation.
Thorough technical understanding of the quality systems and regulatory requirements.
Experience in root cause analysis.
Black Belt experience preferred.
