As a Space Systems Engineer for Business Development , the candidate will join a collaborative team to develop innovative nano-satellite vehicle solutions for multiple proposals/customers. The role demands a blend of in-depth technical understanding and strong business acumen, coupled with interpersonal and strategic skills. The individual will be responsible for the collection of the technical solution coming from the engineering team (e.g. space segment configuration, ground segment, etc.) and for the writing of the full proposal with the aims of: Presenting to the customer the solution proposed for the specific tender Demonstrating how requirements will be met Outlining the work logic, the problem areas identified, and the mitigation approach proposed Directly follow up with the customer getting feedback and providing technical clarifications Specific tasks may include: Perform spacecraft preliminary design and identify key mission requirements and liaison with the technical team, and independently develop the technical solution to be presented to the Customer Independently perform technical budgets, analyses, trade-offs. Create and display presentations and reports and directly interact with the CTO for review and approval Interact autonomously with Customers, engaging technical discussions with the goal of concurring to the optimal technical solution Support the Proposal Manager in creating the bid consortium with suitable partners for the technical solution to satisfy the customer requirements Proactively interact with the supply chain requesting technical specifications, performances and costs and independently perform trade-offs for the selection of the alternatives, maintaining the supply chain database updated Report to Engineering / Business Development Managers for proposals review and iterations Liaison with members of bid consortium for their contribution to the proposal Prepare proposal templates and maintain the database of previous proposals and common technical/management sections (writing effort optimization purposes) Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree (Master preferred) in a Space-related technical field Minimum 3-5 years of work experience in the small satellites industry Strong technical background in the Space System Engineering field (mission analyses, system budgets, thermal analysis, etc) CAD design/drawing/rendering experience and skills are required. Familiarity of EU / International Space Industry players Ability to evaluate proposals autonomously and assess project feasibility by evaluating both engineering and economical-financial constraints Familiar with Microsoft Office suite, including Project and SharePoint Fluent in English and Italian Financial Acumen: Understanding of business finance, budgeting, and economic principles relevant to space projects.
