As a Space Systems Engineer for Business Development, the candidate will join a collaborative team to develop innovative nano-satellite vehicle solutions for multiple proposals/customers. The role demands a blend of in-depth technical understanding and strong business acumen, coupled with interpersonal and strategic skills. The individual will be responsible for the collection of the technical solution coming from the engineering team (e.g. space segment configuration, ground segment, etc.) and for the writing of the full proposal with the aims of:
Presenting to the customer the solution proposed for the specific tenderDemonstrating how requirements will be metOutlining the work logic, the problem areas identified, and the mitigation approach proposedDirectly follow up with the customer getting feedback and providing technical clarificationsSpecific tasks may include: Perform spacecraft preliminary design and identify key mission requirements and liaison with the technical team, and independently develop the technical solution to be presented to the CustomerIndependently perform technical budgets, analyses, trade-offs. Create and display presentations and reports and directly interact with the CTO for review and approvalInteract autonomously with Customers, engaging technical discussions with the goal of concurring to the optimal technical solutionSupport the Proposal Manager in creating the bid consortium with suitable partners for the technical solution to satisfy the customer requirementsProactively interact with the supply chain requesting technical specifications, performances and costs and independently perform trade-offs for the selection of the alternatives, maintaining the supply chain database updatedReport to Engineering / Business Development Managers for proposals review and iterationsLiaison with members of bid consortium for their contribution to the proposalPrepare proposal templates and maintain the database of previous proposals and common technical/management sections (writing effort optimization purposes)Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree (Master preferred) in a Space-related technical fieldMinimum 3-5 years of work experience in the small satellites industryStrong technical background in the Space System Engineering field (mission analyses, system budgets, thermal analysis, etc)CAD design/drawing/rendering experience and skills are required.Familiarity of EU / International Space Industry playersAbility to evaluate proposals autonomously and assess project feasibility by evaluating both engineering and economical-financial constraintsFamiliar with Microsoft Office suite, including Project and SharePointFluent in English and ItalianFinancial Acumen: Understanding of business finance, budgeting, and economic principles relevant to space projects.Soft Skills: Ability to self-govern with minimal supervisionAbility to establish workload priorities to achieve programmatic or strategic initiativesStrong interpersonal and negotiation skills, to build and maintain professional relationships within the space industryCommitment to staying updated with the latest technological advancements and industry shiftsFlexibility to face changing priorities and last-minute requestsAbility to provide and receive feedback for collective team developmentGood stress retentionSalary and benefits are EU market competitive and include Welfare, Benefits, Private Insurance, Flexible working Hours.
