We are looking for a new Mechanism Engineer with a background in Space Robotics engineering and with heritage on mechanism design, development, and testing.
Responsibilities:Specification of subsystems/equipment technical requirements.Design and verification of control systems (Matlab/Simulink environment) based on electric actuators and sensors.Mechanism Design, from concept definition to detailed design to be developed by the team.Performance and functional testing control systems in real-time (LabView and Simulink Environment) working with the hardware.Define and implement the development and verification approach, establishing the corresponding documents, i.e. design development & verification plans, test plans, design justification documents, interface control documents, verification control documents, etc.Production monitoring.Support in the definition and implementation of the development and verification approach, establishing the corresponding documents, i.e., design development & verification plans, test plans, design justification documents, interface control documents, verification control documents, etc.Functional and environmental tests of prototypes and flight equipment.Participation in proposals for new projects (conceptual definition, preliminary design, preliminary dimensioning, approach to verification campaigns, estimation of costs and necessary resources, etc.).Qualifications:Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar discipline.At least 4 years of experience in mechanism/mechatronic engineering.Knowledge of ECSS standards related to structures and mechanisms design and verification.Recognized experience in developing mechanism products (specification, design, verification).Capability to develop simplified mathematical models to justify the design concepts.Experience in mechanisms assembly and testing.Experience in test planning.Background in latching and release mechanisms design.Experience in Control system design (Matlab and Simulink).Knowledge of the English language is required.Good communication, cooperation, and organizational skills, with a willingness to take responsibility.Good analytical and system-oriented thinking.Leader in design, development, qualification, testing, and delivery of complex mechanical systems for space applications.
