Job Description The role will support the European Procurement activities, with a special focus on optimization of costs in to CAPEX related operations, including identifying opportunities of value generation through sales of sawn timber products.
This is a European role and will require a lot of travel across Europe as part of the role.
Part of our Blue forest program – this role will implement new ways for the procurement team to add value whilst contributing to our sustainability and decarbonisation targets.
We supply our manufacturers with material, so we're looking for this role to increase control over our buy-to-sell process.
You'll maintain the daily contact and overview of the network of new pallets suppliers across Europe, ensuring a thorough control of costs and compliance.
The manager is expected to interact with Suppliers, driving improvement of their operations, as well as with CHEP Regional Supply Chain and Timber Sourcing teams, to guarantee the availability of stocks of finished goods, the reduction of waste (slow-rotating goods) and optimization of raw materials ordering.
Responsibilities: Monitor supplier performance, including quality control, operation costs and adherence to contractual agreements.
Conduct regular supplier audits to assess compliance with safety, environmental, and ethical standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics, and finance, to align sourcing activities with organizational goals.
Analyse market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry developments to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the pallet production operations.
Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
Identify business opportunities for external Sales process (BF).
Verify levels of stock (finished products and raw materials) to support optimization of raw materials sourcing plan.
Analyse and report production costs to leverage Flexibility Agreements pillars (cost break down) and drive to cost reduction.
What you'll need: Relevant experience in a Production environment.
Willing to travel both regionally and internationally (75% of time).
Work experience in international matrix organizations across functions and cultures.
Experience in delivering projects.
Quality auditing (desirable).
Persuasive communication and influencing skills to act as an advocate for Procurement and Supply Chain.
Understanding of stakeholders' drivers & expectations.
Good interpersonal skills, communication and listening.
Drive for results and focus on short- and medium-term targets.
Ability to manage ambiguity and handle complexity and interact at a senior level.
