Borgo Pignano, a 750 acre private estate hidden away in the hills and valleys of Tuscany whose ethos is a commitment to slow food, slow living and sustainable organic farming, is looking for an engaging and proactive SOMMELIER for the months from March to October 2025.
Main Responsabilities -Ensure that the wine list is constantly updated
-Demonstrate excellent food and wine knowledge, being able to recommend and pair appropriate wines for the chosen food to all guests
-Manage all duties relating to orders, requests and returns of unusable drinks, maintaining sufficient stock levels
-Ensure all drinks are stored safely
-Organize the cellar and all related paperwork efficiently to ensure complete monthly inventories
-Support and collaborate with the dining room team to ensure the success of the service
-Managing the wine tasting experience
-Collaborate with the other team for create an exeptional experience for the guests
Requirements -At least 3/4 years' working experience in a similar position and in a luxury hospitality industry
-Must be fluent in Italian with and English. A third European language would represent and advantage
Excellent communication skills in all aspects: verbal, written and non-verbal
-Sommelier diploma and excellent knowledge of the national and international wine scene;
-Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
-Must be able to relate to guests
-Excellent attention to detail and a solid knowledge of Food & Beverage
-Team player
-Excellent grooming
-Respect for nature and for the values that the earth represents
-Own car
