About the Program MLG Capital will discuss strategies for transitioning real estate wealth to heirs and important tax structuring considerations. Actual case studies will be presented with the focus on preserving wealth, avoiding tax pitfalls, and setting heirs up to inherit professionally managed investments.
About the Speakers Billy Fox is a Senior Vice President at MLG Capital and is a member of the firm's Operating Committee and Investment Committee. Billy has management responsibility over MLG Capital's joint venture acquisitions and Legacy Fund contributions. Billy enjoys partnering with real estate sponsors to invest MLG Fund capital into special opportunities and partnering with high-net-worth owners of private real estate seeking a tax-deferred exit strategy.
Billy graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with degrees in Real Estate and Accounting and his CPA. At MLG Capital, he works most closely with clients seeking a tax-deferred exit strategy from their real estate holdings.
Aside from work, Billy and his wife, Siena, cherish their time with their two lovely young children. He is always ready for a round of golf and loves to spend time in northern Wisconsin.
Rick Reuter is Senior Vice President and Controller at MLG Capital, as well as a member of the firm's Operating Committee. He has management responsibility over MLG Capital's accounting, investor reporting, fund administration, treasury, and tax functions. Rick also plays a key role in fund/investment structuring including the launch of the MLG Legacy Fund. He enjoys learning and applying the technical aspects of real estate and partnership taxation as well as finding ways to make processes more efficient while maintaining adequate internal controls.
Rick was a Top 10 Accounting Graduate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Accountancy degrees. He is also a Certified Public Accounting (CPA), Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), and an Illinois CPA Excel Award Winner.
