Software Engineer – Natural Language ProcessingLocation: Scala
Salary: EUR 50.000 - 70.000
We are seeking a full-time server-side software engineer.
This backend software engineer will work on a team creating and improving services and tools, delivering insightful and interactive messages in natural language that are central to our user experience.
Working on a very small team means taking on a variety of new challenges across different areas.
The ideal candidate will have approximately 2+ years of software development experience.
We are primarily looking for an individual who is bright, motivated, eager to learn, and capable of overcoming technical hurdles independently.
Responsibilities:Design, prototype, implement, test, and debug software, primarily in Scala.Use modern software methodologies to generate production-ready implementations.Collaborate with your team, management, marketing, data science, and other engineers to advance features through the software development life cycle.Create and implement data processing and statistics algorithms, with some NLP and possibly machine learning algorithms.Create and update tools used for development and testing.Implement effective logging, monitoring, and analytics.Company:Quantitative Systems
Qualifications:Required Skills: Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals such as algorithms, data structures, and run-time analysis.Excellent problem-solving ability and initiative (not just relying on Stack Overflow).Attention to detail in writing code, verifying correctness, and explaining it to others.Knowledge of Scala, or fluency in Java or C++ with a desire and ability to learn Scala quickly.Knowledge of databases and experience writing SQL queries.Fluency in Unix command line.Preferred Skills: Experience with chatbots, natural language generation, or Alexa skills is a significant plus.Education and Experience:2+ years of proven software development experience.
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science.

Level of Experience:Mid Career (2+ years of experience)
