Project: ClinicExo – Clinical validation of rehabilitative exoskeletons Commitment & contract: fixed term contract until December 2026  Location: Genoa Morego, Italy Number of open positions: 2
ABOUT US: The Rehab Technology Research Line aims to develop innovative high-tech robotic solutions for patients with physical impairment.
The activities of the Software Engineers will be conducted within the framework of the ClinicExo project, which aims to validate the clinical effectiveness of TwinMED and FloatEVO, conduct their Health Technology Assessment (HTA), explore innovative rehabilitation protocols, and develop advanced clinical measurement methodologies. These devices will serve as integral components of the hospital centers where our clinical partners are actively involved in the project. 
REQUIREMENTS: Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:
- Analyze, design, develop, and test software libraries for the control of real-time robotic devices.
- Collaboration with other engineering disciplines (mechanics, electronics, clinics) to successfully integrate the developed software and control features with the rest of the system.
The ideal candidate should have:
- An excellent Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science.
- From entry-level up to 3 years of proven extensive programming experience.
- Proven development experience using C and/or C++ programming languages.
- Strong background in robotics and controls.
- Good knowledge of common coding practices and paradigms.
- Proactive attitude and results-oriented mindset.
- A good knowledge of English or the ability to attain this is desirable.
- Good interpersonal and communications skills and willingness to integrate into an international research team.
What Will Put You Ahead? - PhD in Robotics, Mechatronics, Control, or related field
- Good knowledge of the Linux environment.
- Good knowledge of Qt
- Previous experience or projects in embedded programming.
- Development of real-time control systems.
- Good knowledge of common tools and IDE such as Eclipse, VScode, Git.
