Thales Italia is looking for a DevOps Engineer to speed up and automate developing, testing, releasing and deploying software.
The candidate will build, test and maintain infrastructure and tools so that software can be developed, released and deployed.
Duties of a DevOps Engineer include: Building and implementing new development tools and infrastructure; Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes; Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats; Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and fixes; Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended; Build tools to reduce occurrence of errors and improve customer experience; Develop scripts to automate releases and software deploy; Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance.
Profile Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or relevant field.
The ability to code and script in multiple languages and automation frameworks like Python, Java, SQL, Bash, Go; An understanding of the best security practices and automating security testing and updating with CI/CD pipelines; An ability to conveniently deploy monitoring and logging infrastructure using tools like Prometheus; Strong expertise in Kubernetes administration and Kubernetes products ecosystem; Mastery in the use of infrastructure automation toolsets like Terraform, Ansible, and command line interfaces for Microsoft Azure; An understanding of various operating systems, especially Linux, as most public clouds operate on Linux or Unix systems; Development and maintain of Kubernetes Operators to manage product lifecycle; Capability to evaluate new technology alternatives and vendor products; A strong focus on automation and agile development; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; An ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Current hands-on development experience in one or more modern languages and frameworks: Java, Go, Python, JS/NodeJS, Bash; Strong knowledge of GitOps methodology; Knowledge of Monitoring and Observability Tools: Grafana, Prometheus, Jaeger, OpenTelemetry; Fluent English; Problem-solving attitude; Collaborative team spirit.
Required strong knowledge of: Linux OS administration; Git, CI/CD Pipelines and Gitops processes; Docker; Kubernetes; Helm; Velero; Gitlab; Argo CD; Databases Administration; Networking basics; Cybersecurity basics; Scripting (Python/Bash); Ansible; 3+ years of experience as a DevOps in pipelines development, provisioning, operations, and management of Kubernetes environments.
Nice to have: Kafka; Terraform; Keycloak administration; Java coding skills; Quarkus framework; Architecture resiliency and redundancy knowledge to secure highly available application; Good interpersonal skills and communication skills, including the ability to work in an Agile team environment.
