Secheron Hasler Italia is looking for a Senior Qt/C++ Software Developer and Linux Specialist to join the R&D team at the Verona site.
The Software Development we are looking for will have experience in the development of modern C++ applications (C++11/14/17) and in-depth knowledge of Qt Creator, QML.
The ideal candidate will also be familiar with the use of Debian or Arch Linux distributions and their packaging systems.
The new resource will collaborate on the design, development and software maintenance of Secheron Hasler Operator Terminals (HMI) used in the railway sector and their supporting software tools.
Responsibilities and key tasks: Maintain the Debian or Arch Linux distribution used on the Operator Terminals.
Develop Qt applications to test and support the Operator Terminals.
Write and update technical documentation.
You ideally bring the following: University degree in Electrical Engineering/IT or similar disciplines; Minimum 3 years of experience; Thorough knowledge of modern C++ (C++11/14/17); Experience in Qt5/QML application development; Experience in the integration, configuration and maintenance of Linux distributions, including the creation and release of Debian or Arch Linux packages; Experience in using gnu autotools (automake); Knowledge of scripting language (Bash); Experience in using software versioning frameworks (GIT and SVN); Experience in managing Ethernet networks and knowledge of the main protocols (TCP/IP, ARP, DNS, IPMP, DHCP, etc.
); Good knowledge of the English language (level B2/C1); Preferred qualifications are: Cybersecurity skills (SSL and TLS protocols, and main cryptographic algorithms); Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies and Scrum frameworks.
