Software Development Director/Manager - Advanced Manufacturing - Hybrid - North Milan area A leading machinery manufacturer innovator in the advanced manufacturing sector is seeking a talented and experienced SW Development Manager to join a growing team.
About the Role In this exciting role, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of full stack engineer in the design, development, and implementation of critical software solutions for the advanced manufacturing operations. You will bridge the gap between R&D and software development, ensuring the proprietary software aligns seamlessly with the overall manufacturing goals.
Responsibilities: Manage the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) for assigned projects, utilising Agile methodologies
Lead and mentor a team of software developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Define technical vision, roadmaps, and architecture for assigned projects.
Work closely with engineering and product teams to translate requirements into actionable development plans.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code across the full-stack (front-end, back-end, databases).
Implement best practices for code version control, testing, and deployment.
Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in software development and relevant technologies. Requirements Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience as a software developer, with a strong background in full-stack development and project management
Proven experience managing and leading software development teams.
Demonstrated understanding of Agile methodologies
In-depth knowledge of advanced manufacturing processes (3D printing, CNC machining, industrial automation, robotics or CAD/CAM) or a strong background in a related industry (Defense, Automotive, Aerospace).
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects effectively, and meet deadlines. Bonus Points: Experience with AI, ML, IoT projects
