We are currently seeking a Software and Firmware Director to join our dynamic team in Castel Guelfo, Bologna!
This position will lead the Software and Firmware team.
The team is in charge of developing Software for the HMI and overall system diagnosis, embedded Firmware for the DSP which controls the power converters.
This position will manage the development team, be responsible for planning, execution, and delivery of quality Software and Firmware for production as well as for specific Customers in case of Engineering to Order activities.
This position will work with Program Management, peers in other regions, Hardware and Validation managers to establish schedules, resourcing, and development priorities for the product.
It will be the task of this position to ensure that the Software and Firmware meet the proper standards and adhere to the requirements, produce proper documentation of the Software and Firmware, and maintain components when in regular production.
He/she will oversee the entirety of each software project and all team members, which means that fantastic communication skills are required for this position.
What kind of work will you be doing?
Responsible for technology delivery.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to the organization.
Assess the performance of the team on an ongoing process and own the periodic performance review activities.
Advise and coach firmware team on career development and continuous improvement.
Ensure project roadblocks are identified, corrective action plans identified and executed to closure.
Some projects will include responsibility to engage with external development partners including joint product planning requiring the candidate to manage complex partner relationships.
Establish clear expectations, hold team members accountable and incentivize proactive issue resolution to deliver world-class products on time and on budget.
Build a strong team with a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
Guide the team members on safety aspects in the testing environment.
What will make you successful?
2+ years of experience in structured SW/FW design methodologies (e.g.
OO design).
Experience in Agile development practices (e.g.
: scrum).
Good knowledge of the PLM (Product Life Cycle management) and processes.
Expertise in programming and debugging.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Good English language knowledge.
Available for global travels for meetings: 25% Master's or Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, systems engineering, or a related field.
Experience in equivalent areas (e.g., UPS, Power converter or low voltage electrical distribution) is a plus.
