DESCRIPTION Amazon is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Professional to join our EU direct tax advisory team. This role will primarily focus on supporting Amazon's high-growth Consumer business in the EMEA region, with a particular emphasis on the Italian market. The position is open for hiring in Italy. As a principal member of the team, you will play a vital role in monitoring legislative updates, providing strategic tax advice on cross-border transactions and new business initiatives, and managing intricate tax audits and controversies. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in handling highly complex tax matters, such as intricate tax audits, Advance Pricing Agreements (APAs), and Mutual Agreement Procedures (MAPs). Key job responsibilities Manage tax audits and controversies in Italy and other jurisdictions, coordinating responses and earning trust with tax authorities. Monitor and analyze legislative developments in Italy and other key EMEA markets, ensuring compliance. Provide strategic tax advice on international corporate income tax issues across projects and new business initiatives. Conduct in-depth technical analysis, decision-making, and problem-solving on complex tax matters. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business, legal, accounting, and finance. Investigate and respond to internal and external information requests. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS At least ten years of advisory experience in a large accounting/consultancy practice, law firm, tax authority, or business in-house. Proficiency in English and Italian. Bachelor's degree in tax, accounting, finance, or related field. Experienced in Italian tax legislation. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Recognized professional tax qualification, such as Dottore Commercialista or Avvocato tributarista. Extensive experience in managing complex international tax matters, with a focus on corporate income tax, transfer pricing, permanent establishment, and cross-border transactions. Proven track record in handling intricate tax audits and controversies involving tax authorities, with quantifiable impact and successful resolutions.
