As a Product Design Engineer for the Smart Eyewear project, you will follow the project from the very beginning, actively participating in the Product Design phase, where a solid, proactive, and creative problem-solving approach is required, and supporting Product Development up until the launch to Mass Production.
In this role, you will be responsible for the 3D Model design on CAD and modeling of complex smart eyewear systems in which aesthetics plays a key role.
For a successful path, you should also be able to achieve a holistic understanding of the product and its functionalities.
You will work closely with Product Design Engineers, Industrial Designers, User Experience team, Quality, and Manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities Develop and act as reference for the development of complex mechanical solutions as a member of a multi-disciplinary teamIdeate, design, build, test, and refine prototypes and characterization test systemsPush state-of-the-art technologies and approaches to solve complex mechanical problemsWork across the full product development cycle, especially from idea, to concept definition and to product finalizationCollaborate closely with industrial designers, UX team, and quality.Travel to and support engineering builds and vendor visitsQualifications Educational Background in Mechanical Engineering/Industrial DesignKnowledge and Experience of Parametric 3D CAD Software, preferably Creo softwareKnowledge and Experience on PDM, preferably Windchill systemKnowledge on design and process of Injection molding3+ years of industry experience in mechanical design or in mold DesignExperience in Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, geometric tolerancing, and 3D/2D CADKnowledge of design and simulation tools, prototyping tools, manufacturing technologies, and materials.Working knowledge in material properties, such as plastics, metal, adhesive, glass, etc.Experience building relationships and collaborating with cross-functional teams.Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams.High level of organizational skillsScientific approach and great problem-solving skillsAbility to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.Previous experience in Consumer Electronics Product Development is greatly appreciated.Experience with Office 365Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion commitment We are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
