Description You will be working in the Global Product Management team, which is responsible for the definition of the Power Grids Grid Automation – Grid edge solutions product portfolio, development roadmap, and market introduction.
This position is focused on all aspects related to simulation models for power systems studies.
The Global Product Management team is located in Italy, at the HITACHI Energy offices in Genoa and Milan, Italy.
Being part of a Global Product Management team, you shall be actively involved in: Take responsibility over grid code certification and market introduction of Grid Edge Solutions portfolio in all aspects related to power systems models, simulations, and studies.
(30% of your time) Collaborate with R&D experts to shape the simulation models packages (including documentation, tools and collateral material) for maximum usability and value addition (30% of your time) Coordinate and supervise internal and external consultants performing power systems studies to support Hitachi Energy global business, particularly when utilizing models of Hitachi Energy products and solutions.
(20% of your time) Market and customers' requirements collection, review and grooming (10% of your time) R&D backlog definition, prioritization, and business impact assessment (10% of your time) Your background Master's degree, preferred in Electrical Engineering, with focus on Power Systems domain.
More than 5 years of experience in the area of digital control and simulations applied to Power Systems.
Knowledge of Matlab Simulink, PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS/e.
Expertise with other simulation platforms and programming/scripting languages is a plus.
Knowledge of model-related grid code certification and grid impact studies processes and requirements.
Eager to expand knowledge and acquire deep understanding of multiple region-specific regulations and requirements.
Knowledge of battery energy storage systems, microgrids and renewable generation is required; Knowledge of power systems, LV, MV and HV electrical equipment, switchgears, generation equipment.
Knowledge of components such as DCS, PLCs, power meters.
Knowledge of Hardware in the Loop platforms (Typhoon, RTDS) is a plus.
Experience of working in agile environment is a plus.
Solid presentation skills and fluency in English, both written and spoken.
High awareness for quality, process-es and tools in related area.
