Are you a jack of all trades? If so, our Shift Engineer role will allow you to lead and train engineering and landscape team members in all technical and non-technical areas. This individual will be comfortable leading various projects from start to finish while focusing on maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Responsibilities: Respond to all guest repair and departmental repair requests promptly. Look after designated plant rooms, report defects, and keep them clean. Be the first point of contact for other departments' job requests. Regularly check stock and report to supervisors what needs ordering. Communicate rooms and areas needing repair and timelines on how long the work will take. Meet all service standards in every guest interaction. Ensure all equipment and tools provided by the hotel are kept in good repair. Work well alongside other departments and colleagues within the department to ensure smooth running of the hotel. Communicate any delays due to unforeseen problems in a timely manner so expectations can be managed. Keep work areas clean and tidy at all times and use signage provided by the hotel. Coverage of night shifts. Minimum Requirements: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as an Engineer / Maintenance Technician, preferably within a hotel or property management environment. High school diploma or equivalent; technical school desired. Ability to take action and make decisions whenever necessary as directed by the Director of Engineering or Engineering Supervisor. Ability to read and follow technical instructions on the assembly of mechanical equipment and furniture as well as follow directions on warning labels.
