The products of the company include pumps, valves, mechanical seals, and related services. Your new role We are looking for a Service Sales Engineer that is accountable for the selling, promotion, and growth of the aftermarket (replacement valves, spare parts, repair and services that include valve automation services and turnaround services) portfolio for existing install base assets. Travel required, a minimum of 60% of working time, within the territory of Italy to primarily meet with process industry end-user maintenance and reliability engineering teams to develop opportunities and address the needs of these accounts. Detect, lead, and understand the context both technical & financial of customer needs. Liaise directly with these customers, from early stage of bid preparation, customer negotiation until handover to project manager. Create opportunities for services (Valve automation, retrofitting, turnarounds) and provide the most suitable technical and commercial solution displaying excellent communication skills to secure purchase orders and contracts. Follow up high value bids and convert into orders, maintaining details on Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Forecast and ensure a clear visibility for the coming months of his pipeline of opportunities. Provide technical support and pricing guidance to the commercial operations team and other internal stakeholders, as necessary. Secure purchase order/contracts according to the bid provided by the team. Assist Product Marketing in highlighting/identifying potential new product/service opportunities. Develop and work with a wide-ranging external/internal network to enhance professional and technical knowledge. This may include learning in-depth, new product features and benefits and support customers, as necessary with training sessions in Italy or abroad. What you'll need to succeed Good general education with in mechanical, electric, or electronic engineering discipline, equivalent qualification, or experience. Significant valve and actuators service-related background and demonstrated experience and established contacts in the refining and chemical industry. Excellent ability to review and disseminate technical drawings, specifications, and general documentation. Prominent level of commercial awareness and customer focus. The ability to form strong relationships with customers and colleagues. Strong collaborator with the ability to influence others. Excellent organizational skills. Flexible with the ability to work to deadlines. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in English and in Italian language. Strong Microsoft Office literacy, specifically in PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience using CRM software.
