Service Engineer 4 Stroke We are now looking for a Service Engineer to join our Field Services Resources team, in order to improve its after-sales assistance staff and our complex field service activities related to Wartsila's products, including their commissioning, trial tests, adjustments, repair and maintenance.
The preferred location for this position is Genova, Italy.
In this position, when you are not working in the field, remote working is an option too.
Your role and responsibilities As Service Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities: Commissioning tasks, repair- and warranty works in the areas of mechanical power generation.
System testing and analysis on equipment and systems on site; testing and acceptance of installation as well as the necessary adjustments.
Supervision of sea trials, training of ship's crews when necessary.
Preparation of service/installation reports as well as feedback on technical content/changes to involved departments.
Support and guidance of non-conformity issues resolutions.
Requirements for the position Good knowledge of English and Italian.
Ability to read technical drawings.
Knowledge of mechanical principles, especially related to marine engines.
Communication skills customer relations.
Strong motivation to learn and grow professionally.
Cultural knowledge and bridging the gaps between different cultures.
Ability to work under pressure.
Collaborative team player.
Motivation to travel to our customers for at least 80% per year and abroad if required.
As an ideal candidate you might also have… Technical high school diploma in mechanics and/or BS degree in marine engineering or mechanical engineering.
Previous experiences in similar roles.
Sailing while working in vessel's engine-rooms.
