As a Senior Welding Inspector, you will be fully conversant with welding processes such as MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and SAW including steel and aluminum for use on piping, structures, and pressure vessels. You will work with project quality engineers and follow blueprints and specifications.
As a Senior Welding Inspector, you will be responsible for:
Reading and understanding the welding specifications and relevant codes/standards (ASME V, ASME IX, AWS D1.1, and ASME B31.3). Daily surveillance of welding, fit-up, and NDE activities performed in the field. Reviewing the course and effects of welding defects and taking remedial actions. Reviewing radiographic film and all NDT reports daily. Auditing the approved NDT Inspection Company. Witnessing welder qualifications testing and procedures qualification testing and skill tests (when necessary). Reviewing the inspection and testing methods and procedures for Radiographic, Dye Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, and Ultrasonic inspections. Complying with the highest level of safety during all stages of project execution to avoid any incidents or accidents. To be successful in this role you will:
Have a Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training (Certifications: AWS, CSWIP, IWI/IWT/IWE) and related experience. Have extensive familiarity with welding works with at least 10 years of experience as a Welding Inspector, including 5 years in the Oil and Gas industry; LNG plant experience is a plus. Be fluent in both English and Italian. Be a good team player and display good communication and problem-solving skills. Be self-motivated to deliver to deadlines, with a flexible approach to problem-solving without compromising detail or quality. Be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook). Have Non-destructive test (NDT) Certifications Level 2 or 3: UT, VT, PT, RT, and MT. Work in a way that works for you
