We are looking for a Senior Underwriter to join our Construction Team based in Milan.
Your Team Allianz Commercial has a long-standing tradition of supporting the energy & construction industry. Our team has many years of practical experience of leading the largest engineering risks and construction projects across the globe, covering a wide range of engineering classes, including oil and gas, power and utilities, heavy industries, transportation systems and heavy civil engineering projects.
The Impact You Will Have Based in Milan, you will be in charge of underwriting profitable new and renewal business across the Construction product lines. With strong ties to the European Head of Construction but also with the colleagues of the European region, you will support the global strategy to ensure the successful achievement of Allianz Commercial targets. Together with the Operations team you will implement national and international solutions for our customers.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include: Underwrite in line with Construction governance frameworkDrive involvement of functional areas in Underwriting process, including Market Management, Risk Consulting, Claims, OperationsManage referrals from underwriters and re-underwrite complex business as appropriateContribute to the development and execution of regional Underwriting strategy for ConstructionCreate and maintain positive relationships with key producers and clients and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. risk managers)What You'll Bring to the Role You have a degree in EngineeringSignificant experience as an Underwriter, Broker or relevant equivalent in the Construction sectorIdeally you are CII qualified or equivalent or working towards itYou have experience underwriting profitable business in the Construction segment of large corporate international insuranceYou have recognised relationships with clients and brokers at peer group level and are well established within the marketYou have a specialised understanding of regional / local Construction insurance markets and competitor landscapeExperience in project management or leading teamsCapable of leveraging data and analytics to make business more efficient and effectiveYou have a good understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworkYou can design, develop and implement consistent, robust wordings for contracts.Fluent Italian and English language skills are essential to be considered for this role.50381 | Underwriting | Professional | Non-Executive | Allianz Commercial | Full-Time | Permanent
