Job Description We currently have an open position for a highly motivated Sr Technician – Research Associate II to join our Oncology Unit and support our drug discovery efforts.
She/he will execute experiments to test biological hypothesis, to identify new targets and to define the mechanism of action of new molecular entities in Oncology.
The successful candidate will work at the bench and is expected to provide technical support and supervision to other laboratory members, including introduction and teaching of laboratory techniques and support on the use of lab equipment.
A collaborative attitude and ability to multitask are essential for this position.
Candidates with hands-on experience with cell-based assay and cell biology will be given priority.
Required qualifications: Master's degree in biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or other biological science area Minimum 2 years of postgraduate research experience with an in-depth knowledge of cancer biology and cell-based assays Must have a broad experience in cell biology and tissue culture techniques Experience with standard molecular biology and biochemical techniques (e.g., cloning, nucleic acid and protein isolation from human and animal tissue samples, PCR/qPCR, and Western blot) Experience with relevant experimental techniques to modulate gene expression, such as CRISPR, lentiviral transduction, RNAi, shRNA etc.
Experience in bacterial transformation, and restriction enzyme analysis.
Excellent organizational and communication skills Proficiency in IT Tools: MS Office Software (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), GraphPad Prism (or similar) for data analysis Ability to multitask with emphasis on accuracy and attention to details Flexible, proactive, efficient, and able to work independently with a problem-solving attitude Strong team player, high-energy and positive personality Working knowledge of English is mandatory.
Desirable qualifications: 2+ years of experience in biotech/pharma company with expertise in drug discovery would be a strong asset Experience establishing and maintaining primary cell lines and organoids Experience in screening small molecule ligands in microplate-based assay formats to drive Structure-Activity Relationship on purified protein using manual and automated systems Develop and perform cell-based assay enzymatic (determine enzyme activity and kinetics) and substrate binding assays independently or with other team members as instructed During the job interview we will evaluate candidates' experience and the job offer will be commensurate.
