Job Summary: Senior System Engineer involved in the design and technical development of inertial navigation systems for the Industrial and Aerospace & Defense domains.
Main tasks include analyzing customer requirements, generating system architecture, setting formal system requirements, defining validation methods, specifying verification procedures, supporting product installation, and coordinating system development, integration, and qualification/certification activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:Define System Development Plans in accordance with recognized standards (ARP4754, ARP4761).Organize and rule documentation for program development.Define High-level System Requirements and System Architecture.Flow down requirements from system to item level (SW, HW, MECH, etc.
).Review, gather, and analyze low-level requirements for various subassemblies and components.Conduct static and dynamic analysis of IMU performance.Define system integration and test of INS/AHRS/IMU with complex software and hardware.Manage system qualification according to recognized standards (DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461).Review and approve technical design documents and data pertaining to the system under development.Review and approve acceptance test reports, qualification test reports, and all technical studies related to the system.Ensure timely release of all required deliverables to meet contractual milestones.Provide detailed task schedules and update the Program Master Schedule (Gantt chart) with the Project Controller.Interface with company departments such as Engineering, Product Engineering, Prototype Manufacturing, Production, Quality Assurance, Procurement, and Supply Chain.Participate in defining new products to support the company technology roadmap and strategic marketing.Evaluate technical specifications in the documentation package of bids/RFPs to contribute to technical proposals and compliance matrices.Act as technical reference and main interface for the customer, coordinating with the Program Manager.Serve as a technical interface with subcontractors in support of the Procurement office.Qualifications and Skills:Required Skills: University degree in Electronics, Opto-Electronics, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or equivalent.Knowledge of avionics, navigation, and related algorithms, control systems theory.Familiarity with main communication interfaces and protocols (ARINC, RS, CAN, etc.
).Knowledge of ARP4754 and ARP4761 guidelines.Familiarity with RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461 environmental/EMC test standards.Proficiency in MathWorks MATLAB/Simulink.Experience with requirements management tools (preferred IBM Rational DOORS).Understanding of system safety concepts and reliability assessment (PSSA, SSA, FMECA, FTA, etc.
).Knowledge of Microsoft Projects and Project Management Terminology.Ability to lead and motivate a team.Ability to work under pressure and negotiate priorities with other departments.Effective communication skills tailored to various audiences.Systematic and organized in managing project documentation.Capability to perform in-depth investigations of system failures or anomalies.Intermediate level of English language proficiency.Preferred Skills: Knowledge of reliability prediction standards (preferred MIL-HDBK-217F).Knowledge of model-based design.
