Through a culture of collaboration, individual development, and teamwork that leverages diverse talent and strives for continuous improvement, the goal of the Bureau of Asset Management is to achieve exceptional investment outcomes for all stakeholders; to deliver outstanding support to plan Trustees; and to serve as a responsible steward of the resources of plan beneficiaries and the City of New York.The Senior Risk Officer will assist in analysis and provide recommendations on portfolio construction, assess and monitor market risk at the portfolio and manager level across asset classes, The Senior Risk Officer will independently identify and undertake risk projects, contributing to the development of risk infrastructure. This position will report to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO).Under the supervision of the CRO, responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Analyze portfolio construction, provide recommendations on asset allocation, manager selection and sizing.Contribute towards building a more efficient portfolio to meet investment objectives of the systems.Identify managers for the "watch list" and provide recommendations for the investment teams.As part of the Risk Team, research and develop new methodologies and participate in designing a multi-asset risk framework for a pension fund.Analyze investment risks using factor based quantitative models and review the implications of potential investment decisions on total portfolio risk.Investigate portfolio strategies and new investments.
