The Institute of Atmospheric Sciences and Climate of the Italian National Research Council (CNR-ISAC) invites applications for a senior postdoc position within its climate modeling group in Torino. The selected candidate will contribute to various modeling activities, including paleoclimatic studies, subseasonal forecast system development, and km-scale climate simulations within the Destination Earth Climate Adaptation Digital Twin project. The candidate will participate in both scientific and technical aspects of the climate modeling group's activities, including climate model development, conducting climate simulations, developing new diagnostics, and analyzing climate run outputs across various projects.
The position requires a PhD in a relevant field, two years of postdoc experience, and expertise in numerical climate models, climate data analysis, diagnostics development, and climate variability. Proficiency in programming languages such as Fortran, Python, R, and Julia, as well as version control experience (git) and HPC environments, is also necessary.
The position offers the opportunity to carry out individual research lines within the broader scope of the group's work and provides a salary of €1900 per month (net). The contract length is 12 months with the possibility of renewal on other group projects.
