For more information, visit https://www.celanese.com/ Responsibilities: YOU will be involved in the following tasks: Develop new products in all Celanese resins systems including engineered thermoplastics, thermoplastic elastomers, and some amorphous resins. Development efforts may include color formulation development, color matching, stabilization development, product additive enhancements, and compounding process improvements. Identify internal and external customers' technical needs to develop products that meet or exceed requirements. Projects are aligned with growth initiatives and market needs serving automotive, appliance, consumer, electrical/electronics, medical and other markets, and applications. Engage with customers to fully understand their requirements and attend customer trials, product reviews, and other meetings to ensure developed products are approved and meet customer needs. Collaborate with internal and external customers, Program Management, Commercial Teams, Manufacturing, and other Technology & Innovation functions to develop and commercialize products. Develop knowledge and skills in state-of-the-art technologies by working closely with colorant, additive, and equipment suppliers. Develop and establish intellectual property. Qualifications: What YOU will bring to the team: S. Degree or higher in Polymer Science, Chemistry, Chemical, or Materials Science/Engineering (or related field). 3+ years of experience in the coloring of plastics industry. Knowledge and skills in plastics color chemistry including the relative performance of common pigments and dyes, potential interactions of colorants with resins and additives, and other usage concerns/restrictions. Knowledge and skills in plastics color theory including spectrophotometry, light sources, and color difference measurements. Must possess normal color vision. Proficiency in statistical techniques such as Design of Experiments (DoE). Ability to travel (up to 25%). Ability to manage multiple projects with competing demands. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Knowledge and skills in multiple polymer resins such as acetal, polyester, nylon, polypropylene, elastomers, and amorphous resins. Knowledge and skills in general plastics stabilization and additive technologies. Knowledge and skills in UV stabilization technology and UV testing methodologies. Knowledge of polymer processing technology, including compounding, injection molding, and part appearance problem-solving techniques. Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams to drive a project from lab-to-commercial scale. Ability to work safely in the laboratory and plant settings.
