Mollie is seeking a passionate and driven Senior Software Engineer to join our newly formed Onboarding Activation team in Milan. This team is dedicated to supercharging our customer acquisition and activation efforts by building innovative solutions that enhance the onboarding experience and drive product adoption.
This role sits at the intersection of product, marketing, and engineering, shaping the customer experience across multiple Mollie products. You'll work directly with designers, marketers, and data analysts to identify opportunities and bring solutions to life. We value creative problem-solving and empower you to contribute to feature design and development.
What You'll Do:Build and maintain robust and scalable backend systems: You'll be working primarily with PHP, but experience with Java and React is a plus. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying APIs and other backend components that support our marketing automation platform.Implement and optimise marketing automation workflows: You'll work closely with the Growth Marketer to implement and optimise automated email campaigns, in-app messaging, and other marketing automation initiatives. You'll ensure these workflows are efficient, reliable, and deliver the desired results.Conduct A/B testing and data analysis: You'll help design and conduct A/B tests to measure the impact of new features and improvements. You'll partner with our data analysts to identify areas for optimization and improvement.Develop user-facing features: You'll collaborate with marketers, engineers, and designers to translate user needs into functional and engaging features that improve the onboarding experience and drive product adoption. You'll be working with React and TypeScript to build interactive and user-friendly interfaces.What You Bring:Strong backend development experience: You have at least 4 years of experience developing web applications, preferably with PHP or Java. Experience with other languages React is a plus.Product mindset: You are passionate about building products that solve real user problems and have a strong understanding of user experience principles.Strong communication and collaboration skills: You are able to effectively communicate your ideas and technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences. You are also a strong team player and enjoy working in a collaborative environment.Data-driven approach: You are comfortable working with data and using it to inform your decisions and improve your work.Nice to haves: Experience with React and TypeScript, experience with marketing automation tools, experience working in the payments, FinTech, or high-scale B2B SaaS space.Please apply with your CV in English.
