THE POSITION: The Senior Medical Science Liaison will be responsible for establishing, developing, and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders within a defined territory.
The product launch is ongoing as the first and only FDA approved therapy for desmoid tumors.
A Marketing Authorisation Application for desmoid tumors in Europe was submitted in February 2024.
The Senior MSL will be the scientific face of the Client in the field.
The role requires mastery of technical, clinical, and functional expertise.
A Senior MSL will maximize and leverage Key Opinion Leader (KOL) relationships by identifying collaborative opportunities that meet the strategic needs of the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: KOL Relationships Build and maintain expert relationships with relevant KOLs while establishing strong scientific connections across multi-specialty disciplines in academic centers and community practices.
Support and advise in translating the field medical strategy to a national KOL plan.
Provide expert scientific support to MSLs as needed for KOL interactions.
HCP Engagement Partner with Medical Information colleagues to improve Standard Response Letters and efficiency of MIRF process.
Act as expert liaison to investigators interested in developing and performing investigator-initiated research.
Be the primary onboarding trainer and mentor for new MSLs.
Scientific Congress Lead Serve as the MSL lead for scientific congresses, organizing scientific coverage and ensuring summaries are developed and distributed.
Insight Generation Stay abreast of current scientific and treatment landscape trends in therapeutic areas of interest.
Internal Project Support Contribute to Product Medical Affairs Team, providing expertise to the medical plan.
Participate in planning and execution of scientific/medical advisory boards.
Serve as a mentor and role model on the MSL team.
Other Duties: Be familiar with EU pharma rules and regulations applicable to MSL activities.
Provide clinical presentations and information in response to unsolicited questions.
Develop and execute territory plans in alignment with strategy.
EXPECTATIONS OF THE JOB: Travel: up to 70% Hours: 5 days of the week MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Advanced Scientific degree required (MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP).
Advanced Practice Degree (NP, PA) with oncology experience may be considered.
Minimum of 5 -10 years MSL experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
Rare disease experience preferred, particularly in Oncology and/or Neurosciences.
Technical: Mastery level proficiency with business software including Veeva CRM and Microsoft Office Suite.
Leadership: Advanced leadership skills including experience working with cross-functional teams.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Other: Strong attention to detail and ability to organize and prioritize work schedule.
A valid driver's license is required and must be in good standing.
