Great opportunity to work as a Senior Mechanical Engineer (client side) based in Milan, on a major development project.All candidates must have the right to work in the EU unsponsored; no uplifts or living expenses will be provided.
All candidates must be willing to work out with "employed status" and should be self-employed/freelance.The role:Ability to review design and develop mechanical systems and components based on project specifications and requirements.Prepare detailed drawings and specifications.Conduct stress analysis, thermal analysis, and fluid dynamics simulations to validate designs and ensure performance under operating conditions.Utilize software tools such as ANSYS or COMSOL for simulation and analysis.Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., ASME, ASTM).Perform inspections and testing of mechanical systems to verify performance and quality.Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers.
Identify and resolve technical issues, proposing innovative solutions.Ensure adherence to local, national, and international regulations.Requirements:BSc or higher in the oil gas sector (not less than 10 years' experience).Experience in oil gas engineering projects (non-graduate engineer/20 years' experience in oil gas production).Proficiency in English.Computer skills: Engineering Design Software (e.g., AutoCAD), SAP2000, ANSYS or similar, Microsoft Office, and process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) to model and evaluate process performance.Organizational skills: Time management, task management, planning, attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication.PMP or similar, Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE), ASME Certifications, Safety Certifications, and Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.Our role in supporting diversity and inclusion: As an international workforce business, we are committed to sourcing personnel that reflects the diversity and values of our client base and of Orion Group.
