Join us today and make a difference in people's lives! We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Disposable Engineering area in our plant of Mirandola (MO). The Senior Mechanical Engineer designs products and solutions, which he/she verifies through appropriate simulation tools and testing, defining and executing the appropriate test protocols. He/she works in close cooperation with the Design Engineer and Lead System Integrator, contributing with his/her deep engineering insight. He/she brings solid knowledge of engineering and disposables manufacturing and is able to handle problems for a wide range of CP disposable and mechanical products throughout the entire product lifecycle (from New Product Development to Maintenance). He/She also ensures that manufactured parts are built according to the drawings with proper technologies, documenting results in reports (FAI reports) and driving corrective actions if deviations are found (e.g. suggesting adjustments in the manufacturing process or changing specification). JOB FUNCTIONS: is responsible of product design; transforms ideas into concept design; understands and correctly translates product requirements into design; defines technical solutions for new products design and to sustain existing products lifecycle; applies and constantly improves knowledge of technology; is responsible for self technical skills development, in collaboration with the functional manager; cooperates to the technical feasibility for products and subsystems, as well as to the investigation of product issues to identify root causes; openly discusses diverse inputs for product development and technical design reviews; contributes to the project strategy when product decisions are required. During the Design and development phase, He/She will: Deliver solutions that meets the specifications; He will be a proactive sparring partner for the Therapy, Design and Prototyping Engineers, challenging design decisions where appropriate; Design the subsystem that meets the required specifications. Share and explain the technical decisions that are at the core of the design; Apply design changes; Verify FAI, ensuring that parts meet specifications with an acceptable level of process capability, highlighting eventual deviations; Use virtual prototyping and simulation tools to verify the designed solution; Support Prototyping Engineers during the realization of physical prototypes and pre-series; Define test protocols to verify the mechanical performances for the designed subsystem; Analyze the results, and interprets these; Performs accurate device autopsy to clearly identify and analyse product and process issues; Identify, propose and select different solutions to resolve issues. After Product Launch, he/she will: Support the Design Engineers in the design of Product Changes; Perform Mold Flow Analysis, Structural Analysis, stress and deformation analysis, finite element analysis; Assess mechanical deviations from specs; REQUIREMENTS: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering (Mechanical); Fluent in Italian and English, both spoken and written; At least 5 years of experience, preferably in medical devices design and disposables manufacturing; CAD specializations: CREO Windchill; Strong expertise to perform simulation about Molding (e.g. Modlex, Mold Flow), FEM and CFD analysis and simulations; Knowledge of ISO 13486 is a nice to have; Fluency in both Italian and English languages is required Our commitment to Diversity & Inclusion: LivaNova values equality and celebrates diversity.
