Come create the technology that helps the world act together. Nokia is committed to innovation and technology leadership across mobile, fixed, and cloud networks. Your career here will have a positive impact on people's lives and will help us build the capabilities needed for a more productive, sustainable, and inclusive world. We challenge ourselves to create an inclusive way of working where we are open to new ideas, empowered to take risks, and fearless to bring our authentic selves to work.
The team you'll be part of
Our Business Group is a leader in wireless mobility networks and associated services. With more than 3,500 patent families essential for 5G, we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and vRAN).
What you will learn and contribute to
The X-Haul team, part of the MW&CSN Business Unit, is providing Microwave transport solutions within Nokia, with the reference product family being Wavence. Nokia is looking for a young HW development engineer specialized in the mechanical domain.
As a HW engineer in X-Haul R&D, you will contribute to both feature evolution of the product and development of new HW items to renew the product HW platform. HW is a relevant part of the Wavence product, and the majority of feature differentiators with respect to competition rely on HW-specific implementation.
You will develop extensive knowledge of new telecommunications protocols and state-of-the-art standards, microwave specificities, Nokia's hardware platforms, and the way customers are deploying them. You will contribute to developing innovative solutions exploiting advanced technologies to address Nokia's strategy in the 5G domain and beyond.
As part of the HW team, you will work in the context of a team across different X-Haul R&D locations, highly interacting with other teams inside X-Haul, in a multicultural and worldwide context. You will experience modern development methodologies like agile, scrum, and cross-functional team working.
Within HW development, you will contribute to creating innovative solutions through system and function architecture definition and will be responsible for specification, simulation, design, and qualification, both at unit and system level, following the complete end-to-end project flow from market needs to the release of the new product to market.
The environment is particularly stimulating since you will have the possibility to work inside a team in contact with the most advanced internal and external Research Centers (like Bell Labs) and universities.
