We are searching for Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer.
A Day in the Life We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design and verify products and solutions for Peritoneal Dialysis disposable and mechanical products throughout the entire product lifecycle, from new product development to maintenance.
This role involves using CAD, simulation tools and testing to define the appropriate device design and execute appropriate test protocols.
The mechanical engineer will ensure that manufactured parts meet design specifications, documenting results in First Article Inspection (FAI) reports and driving corrective actions for any deviations, such as suggesting adjustments to manufacturing processes or changing specifications.
This role is based at our site in Mirandola (MO), with the possibility of a hybrid work model after the initial probation period.
Responsibilities: Creates product design.Transforms ideas into concept design.Understands and correctly translates product requirements into design.Defines technical solutions for new product design.Applies and constantly improves knowledge of technology.Responsible for self-technical skills development, in collaboration with the functional manager and discipline Subject Matter Experts (SME).Cooperates on the technical feasibility for products and subsystems, as well as investigates product issues to identify root causes.Openly discusses diverse inputs for product development and technical design reviews.Contributes to the project strategy when product decisions are required.During The Design and Development Phase will Deliver solutions that meet specifications.Be a proactive sparring partner for the Design and Prototyping Engineers, challenging design decisions where appropriate.Apply design changes.Verify FAI, ensuring that parts meet specifications with an acceptable level of process capability, highlighting any deviations.Use virtual CAD, prototyping and simulation tools to verify the designed solution.Actively support Prototyping Engineers during the realization of physical prototypes and pre-series.Define test protocols to verify the mechanical performances for the designed subsystem.Analyze the results and interpret these.Perform accurate device autopsy to clearly identify and analyze product and process issues.Must Have: Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial mechanical design.Master's degree in mechanical engineering, Material Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering (Mechanical). PhD is a plus.Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in medical devices design and single-use device manufacturing.Deep knowledge in plastic materials technology applied to biomedical single-use devices.Deep knowledge in mechanical design.Proficiency in 3D modeling (PTC Creo).Knowledge of mechanical simulations CFD & FEA (ANSYS) and molding simulations (e.g., Modlex, Mold Flow).Knowledge of plastic injection molding and plastic welding technologies.Knowledge of PLM systems (PTC Windchill).Knowledge of international standards applied to biomedical devices (ISO 13486 is a nice to have).Advanced level of English and Italian language.Nice to Have: Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic technologies applied to biomedical devices is a plus.Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), Microsoft Project.Software: SAP, SVN.Knowledge of R&D documentation.Design Control and Design Transfer.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
