Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
A Day in the Life
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design and verify products and solutions for Peritoneal Dialysis disposable and mechanical products throughout the entire product lifecycle, from new product development to maintenance.
This role involves using CAD, simulation tools and testing to define the appropriate device design and execute appropriate test protocols. The mechanical engineer will ensure that manufactured parts meet design specifications, documenting results in First Article Inspection (FAI) reports and driving corrective actions for any deviations, such as suggesting adjustments to manufacturing processes or changing specifications. This role is based at our site in Mirandola (MO), hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities:
Creates product design and transforms ideas into concept design. Understands and correctly translates product requirements into design. Defines technical solutions for new product design. Cooperates in the technical feasibility for products and subsystems, as well as in the investigation of product issues to identify root causes. Contributes to the project strategy when product decisions are required. During The Design and Development Phase will:
Deliver solutions that meet the specifications. Be a proactive sparring partner for the Design and Prototyping Engineers, challenging design decisions where appropriate, actively support during the realization of physical prototypes and pre-series. Verify FAI, ensuring that parts meet specifications with an acceptable level of process capability, highlighting any deviations. Define test protocols to verify the mechanical performances for the designed subsystem, analyze the results, and interpret. Must Have:
Master's degree in mechanical engineering, Material Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering (Mechanical). PhD is a plus. Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial mechanical design. Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in medical devices design and single-use device manufacturing. Deep knowledge in plastic materials technology applied to biomedical single-use devices, knowledge of plastic injection molding and plastic welding technologies. Proficiency in 3D modeling (PTC Creo). Knowledge of mechanical simulations CFD & FEA (ANSYS) and molding simulations (e.g. Modlex, Mold Flow). Knowledge of PLM systems (PTC Windchill). Knowledge of international standards applied to biomedical devices (ISO 13486 is a nice to have). Advanced level of English and Italian language. Nice to Have:
Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic technologies applied to biomedical devices is a plus. Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Project. Software: SAP, SVN. Knowledge of R&D documentation. Design Control and Design Transfer. Why Work with Us?
