Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
A Day in the Life
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible to advance existing technology or introduce new technology and therapies. Formulates, delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results.
May act as a mentor to colleagues. The majority of time is spent delivering R&D, systems or initiatives related to new technologies or therapies – from design to implementation - while adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Researches, plans, designs, verifies, validates and develops mechanically wise biomedical single use devices and systems. Recommends various technology options or approaches for system, processes, facility or program improvements in terms of safety, performance, efficiency or costs. May be responsible for the transfer from R&D to manufacturing. Design, analysis and optimization of single use devices (such as blood lines, control cassette and dialyzer) in terms of both functional performances and production process optimization. Must Have: min 7 years of experience in industrial mechanical design. Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering (PhD is a plus). Nice to Have: Deep knowledge in plastic materials technology applied to biomedical single use devices. Deep knowledge in mechanical design. Deep knowledge of the 3D modeling (PTC Creo). Deep knowledge of plastic injection molding and plastic welding technologies. Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic technologies (applied to biomedical devices is a plus). Knowledge of PLM systems (PTC Windchill). Knowledge of international standards (applied to biomedical devices). Knowledge of English (C1 level min). Knowledge of mechanical simulations (FEA ANSYS) is a plus.
