Summary

As a Senior Workplace, Health and Safety (WHS) Specialist, your role is key to driving improvements on-site and at a regional level. You'll help your colleagues maintain high standards, all while driving a culture of safety and inclusivity on your site.
There is a range of opportunities within the team, from Health and Safety Technicians to Programme Managers. No matter what your role is, you'll play a part in developing, implementing and upholding our high safety and wellbeing standards. You could work on a variety of projects alongside colleagues from across the business, ranging from equipment and process inspections to assessing processes, building and equipment design.
Amazon Logistics, or AMZL, handles 'last mile' delivery duties in partnership with third-party distribution businesses. We utilise creative thinking and continuous improvement initiatives to get millions of physical products into the hands of our customers. Our goal is to make our customers' delivery experience as smooth as possible and roll out global delivery solutions for our newest concepts, like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now and Amazon Restaurants.
Key job responsibilities Manage your programmes, whilst regularly collaborating with other teams and stakeholders across the companyUse internal reporting tools to analyse data reports and root causes that provide leadership with the information they need to make safety related decisionsProvide guidance and arrangements for health and safety projects and policiesDrive programmes to improve technical equipment specifications and designs within AmazonAbove-average willingness to travel within the covered regionA day in the life
This is an extremely varied role based at one of our sites, allowing you to directly contribute to many aspects of our safety culture. You will manage health and safety standards while improving functionality and efficiency. You'll also manage your team and help them implement changes in response to employee feedback or seize opportunities to continuously make process improvements.
Your role is instrumental in keeping employees safe, managing their satisfaction, and supervising their wellbeing and productivity. You'll step in and take ownership of health and safety to foster a culture that revolves around operating safely.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Education to a degree level and ASPP or RSPP certifiedProfessional training in a technical profession, preferably mechatronics or electricsRelevant experience managing projectsRelevant experience complying with local Health and Safety legislationAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyAdvanced proficiency in verbal and written English and Italian PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with Lean, 5S and Kaizen methodologiesQualifications or experience in the field of sustainabilityRelevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadershipChartered membership of a Human Resources industry body (e.g., IOSH) to support people managementStrong stakeholder management capabilitiesStrong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systemsBachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
