Senior Consultant I Italy Onshore Renewables Taylor Hopkinson is recruiting an experienced Senior Legal Manager to join the Italian team of a leading IPP specialising in renewable energy, with a strong focus on sustainable and innovative solar energy solutions.
The ideal candidate will provide expert legal counsel across all phases of project development, from land acquisition to ready-to-build (RtB) status, and lead the local legal team while collaborating with global counterparts.
Main Responsibilities :
Lead and mentor the local legal team, setting clear objectives and ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
Provide strategic legal advice to senior management and other departments, ensuring compliance with Italian regulations and minimising legal risks.
Draft, review, and negotiate key project agreements such as land acquisition contracts, Power Purchase Agreements (PPA), Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) agreements, and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) contracts.
Support financing transactions and M&A activities with detailed due diligence and document preparation.
Engage with external counsel and stakeholders to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
Requirements :
At least 10 years of legal experience, with 5+ years in the renewable energy sector.
Law degree from a recognised Italian university with a strong academic record.
Proven expertise in project development contracts, financing documents, and M&A activities in the renewables field.
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Fluency in English and Italian (advanced proficiency in English is required).
