The Berlin Police - Central Service Information and Communication Technology Directorate is looking for a permanent position as soon as possible for a Senior IT Network Architect (f/m/d) Reference number: 2-126-24 Pay grade: EG 14 TV-L Full-time with 39.4 hours per week (part-time employment may be possible) Place of employment: Platz der Luftbrücke 6, 12101 Berlin We are looking for responsible IT specialists who share their skills and qualifications with us, are looking for demanding IT challenges and want to further develop our IT and thus make a contribution to the security of the Berlin Police.
We operate and monitor a wide range of IT security components such as firewalls, application-level gateways, web content gateways, IDSs, VPNs, switches, routers, email encryption gateways, email content scanners and virus protection systems of various types.
Our IT architecture provides a guideline for everyone involved in the planning and operation of IT systems and IT infrastructures.
The IT architecture division includes the tasks of standardization, consulting, development and testing.
These ensure the smooth, secure and future-proof provision and further development of the technical services and products of the Berlin Police.

These exciting tasks await you: Strategic planning and development of the IT architecture in the network specialization area in connection with the IT basic services, the management of the complex IT infrastructure as well as the modernization and the IT components in operation, Strategic creation, updating, coordination and control of the security management system in the Berlin Police with production of decision documents, e.g.
risk analyses, hazard assessments and data protection impact assessments, Management of or work in project and working groups/specialist committees as well as independent advice to all levels of the police authority with regard to IT architecture network measures.

Contribute yourself and new findings from the further development of security and crisis management methods and standards.
You have: a university degree (Master's degree) in the field of computer science, information technology, electrical engineering or a mathematical or technical degree program or equivalent skills and experience based on relevant activities.
The following knowledge and experience are important for the job practical experience in analyzing complex IT systems, practical experience and expertise, of IT network architectures, in matters of information security and information security management, Knowledge and experience in the implementation of new network designs in the IPv6 area, Basic knowledge of IT forensics, Project management skills and several years of experience in this field with knowledge of of IT requirements management and several years of experience in the field of IT project development, practical experience in the implementation of ICT security requirements (e.g.
BSI basic protection catalog, emergency concepts, data protection and data security), German language skills at least C2 according to the competence scale of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) good knowledge of English, especially the specific technical terms.
