All about the role: We are looking for a Functionality Engineer to work inside the Dish Washer System Functionality laboratory, where the focus is to fit our consumers' unmet needs by developing new functionalities. System Functionality represents the link between hardware and software modules and aims to enhance consumer experience.
What you'll do: This new team member, proactive and innovative by nature, with practical sense and critical thinking attitude, will oversee the development of Dish Washer cleaning & drying cycles through performance testing at product level and with an eye on international standards and legislations, consumer insights and magazines. Your responsibilities will include the design of appliance functionality employing test plans definition and execution with a critical, problem-solving approach, and data analysis and reporting, being focused on deadlines.
You will work in an international, multi-competence R&D environment and cooperate with expert cross-functional Technology teams and global teams across the whole organization (e.g., Consumer Insight & Standards, Group Sustainability, etc.).
In detail, you will:
Design appliance functionality, cleaning & drying cycles development according to the targetsDefine Test plans and execute functional tests during all development stagesAutonomously perform experiments on dishwashers in a laboratory environment (including setting up prototypes and testing preparation) and execute tests on new components on dedicated test benchesAnalyse data with a statistical approach, prepare test reports according to projects timelines and deliverablesUnderstand Standard and Consumer Institutes testing proceduresDevelop new, customized test protocols upon needSupport product functionality management in terms of energy declarationIntegrate and coordinate inputs coming from other teams (e.g., Hydraulic, Noise, Mechanical, Chemical, Software) to enhance appliance functionality and improve cycle designUnderstand product technical specifications and support the introduction of new technologies from the functional point of view, in collaboration with the relevant departmentsWho you are: Master's degree in Thermodynamic, Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering3-5 years of experience in R&D environmentExperience with laboratory testing design and execution and application of statistical approach on testing methodologiesAnalytical thinking and independent judgement. Innovative attitude.Positive and proactive behaviour, personal integrity to achieve department/corporate goals and objectivesAbility to collaborate with teams and colleagues across the Company, attracted by a multicultural and agile environmentFluent English, with good written and verbal communication skillsWhere you'll be: You will be based in Porcia, located in the metropolitan area of Pordenone (Northeast Italy), where the main Electrolux R&D centre is located. Here, in a dynamic environment, we develop and test domestic appliances such as Dishwashers, Washing Machines, Washer Dryers and Tumble Dryers.
