We are currently looking for a Senior Finance and Reconciliations Officer to join our fast-growing and dynamic team. The opportunity to join the team at this stage in the Institution's journey provides for an exciting and rewarding experience. The Finance Officer will have the opportunity to grow in a dynamic environment, whilst gaining knowledge and experience in a fast-paced and technology-driven industry. The chosen candidate will report directly to the Head of Finance and will be responsible for assisting in managing the Institution's day-to-day reconciliation requirements as well as accounting duties, including monthly management and regulatory reporting.
Key Responsibilities Oversee daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations of transactions across various banking, acquiring and other key partners; Proactively assist in the daily reconciliation of customer funds, including daily monitoring of operational and client safeguarded accounts; Assist the Head of Finance in managing the treasury function of the Institution, including the management of prefunded and other balances with various partners; Assist the Head of Finance in overseeing and managing the daily transactional processing activities of the Institution; Work as part of the Finance team in the preparation of monthly financial reports, management reporting information and external financial reports; Assist with month-end journals and Bank reconciliations; Assist with the various regulatory reports the Institution is required to submit to Regulators and Authorities, including but not limited to the MFSA and to the CBM; Preparation and assistance with periodic VAT returns and other related VAT compliance requirements, corporate income tax computations and relevant returns; Assist in maintaining the Financial Operations Manual with updates to relevant functional procedures & processes; Work with internal control functions to ensure that the Finance Function has the required internal controls and processes actively in place to manage financial and operational risks; Assist with audit requests and liaising with the external and internal auditors; Provide support to our internal (non-finance) teams to improve financial operations; Provide ad hoc financial reports as requested by the Head of Finance and fellow senior management; Manage the interaction with vendors and complete payment runs, as applicable. Skills Required Minimum of 2-3 years experience in a similar role, ideally within the financial services industry; Relevant qualification in Finance, Accounting or a related field (candidates in advanced stage of ACCA studies will be considered); Experience with card products and card processing activities will be considered an asset; Experience with Financial Institution Regulatory returns will be considered an asset; Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Ability to work on his/her own initiative and as part of a team, and possesses strong interpersonal skills; High proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel; Attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills; A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards; Thrive in a fast-paced environment.
