We are looking for an Engineering Manager focused on floating offshore wind farm design for our Italian projects. You will be responsible for the overall project design integrity, scope and interface management, project certification and quality. You will be in charge of a smaller engineering team dedicated to the success of the project. You will have the responsibility of the oversight of the overall design of the project and the coordination responsibility of the design across all packages. In the capacity as Engineering Manager you will also support early project development, site conditions campaigns, PPA auctions, M&A due diligence.
This role is based out of our COP office in Milan.
You will support initiatives including:
Management of Engineering function, including preparing project management activities incl. scoping, scheduling, budget, resource management. Project Quality Management; develop and maintain Quality System, incl. training, implementation and ensuring performance reporting for the full project. Project Scope Management; develop and maintain scope management plan, incl. maintaining RACI matrix and document scope split between work packages. Interface coordination and management across project packages, facilitate interface board meeting and recommend interface solutions, including close cooperation with the Transmission Manager and asset packages. Wind resource assessment; develop and optimize windfarm capacity, layout, model energy yield assessments, incl. undertake rapid scenario-development and optimisation analyses. Certification & Design, prepare Project Certification strategy, sign and manage 3rd party certifier, prepare project design basis, lead technical response towards LTA. Specify and manage external work, e.g. project certification, 3rd party assessments, etc. Specify seabed & soil survey requirements – offshore & onshore offshore G&G, to ensure optimized survey campaigns. Adapt project envelope for specific requirements, provide technical support to consenting team as well as evolution of project envelope to minimise overall project risk. Develop wind measurement strategy and manage realization. Compile and communicate results, options, pros and cons in a concise manner. To succeed in this role, you have:
Preferably 10 years of international offshore wind energy engineering experience, with a developer or consultant company. Maintain an organized and structured work approach. Broad understanding of the range of technologies in an offshore WF, with particular focus on site conditions and foundation design, WTG layout and production optimization. Knowledge and experience with windfarm constraints, e.g. technical site and permitting as well as investor and lender requirements. Strong understanding of business case drivers. Engineering degree, preferable with major offshore wind component. What we offer:
