We are seeking a Senior Electric Propulsion Engineer to join our dynamic team in Italy.
In this key role, you will be a part of the Propulsion Engineering team, focused on designing the electric propulsion subsystem for a new GEO satellite bus.
You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians to design, analyze, test, and integrate high-performance propulsion systems.
Key Responsibilities: Provide technical expertise and consultancy in electric propulsion to project teams responsible for spacecraft development.
Lead the design and development of propulsion subsystems utilizing Hall thruster-based propulsion technology and its critical components.
Develop and validate models for system design.
Identify critical development challenges and assist in their resolution.
Oversee the verification and integration of propulsion subsystems.
Providing support for iterations and reviews with suppliers.
Validate analysis results through testing.
Regularly report to the Head of Propulsion and Lead System Engineer.
Required Technical Skills: Strong background and specific experience in electric propulsion.
In-depth understanding of relevant technologies, R&D trends, and the industry landscape.
Proficiency in fluidic system design.
General knowledge and modeling of plasma phenomena.
Expertise in designing, developing, and validating tools and methods relevant to the field.
Experience in managing and monitoring industrial activities, including participation in project reviews.
Preferential Skills: Familiarity with space engineering standards, including preparation and implementation.
Prior experience in electric propulsion subsystems development and qualification.
Experience with EcosimPRO and SPIS.
Background in institutional projects.
Experience planning and conducting AIV (Assembly, Integration, and Verification) activities and launch campaigns.
Education and Experience: Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or Plasma Physics required; a PhD in a related field is a strong asset.
5-8 years of experience in electric propulsion.
