EY is currently looking for exceptional candidates to join its Security Risk Management division as part of its Security Operations Centre (SOC).
The successful candidate will join the organisation with the role of "SOC Operator", and will be required to work on 24/7 shifts, to be performed on-site at EY's offices in Via Lombardia 31, Rome.
The Security Operations Centre (SOC) is at the centre of EY's Security Risk Management services and, operating on a 24/7 basis, is staffed by a specialist team of security and intelligence professionals with significant experience in the delivery of travel risk and crisis management services.
Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, our SOC is the first point of contact for our clients, which include companies performing frequent business travels, as well as operating in non-permissive, high-risk environments.
The Role:As a SOC Operator, the successful candidate will be the focal point of the SOC's activities, providing both internal and external stakeholders with actionable intelligence and advice, monitoring incidents and events globally with the support of EY's cutting-edge technological solutions. This is also a cross-functional role, where the SOC Operator will be required to closely cooperate with other colleagues in support of security consulting, journey management, and investigative activities.
Main Requirements:Being the primary point of contact for the delivery of assistance and security advice (via phone/email) to EY's clients, which include business travellers, expatriates, and security managers.Being responsible for the management of security escalations, in adherence with the internal protocols and procedures.Being familiar with client-specific protocols, and with their operational footprint.Actively monitor global events on media and social media to identify significant developments, to be shared with internal and external stakeholders with the issuing of an alert, or a dedicated report.Develop a thorough knowledge of the dynamics associated with the region of interest.Deliver tailored and routine analytical products in a timely manner, in conformity with EY's quality standards.Act in coordination with other colleagues within the Security Risk Management function in supporting journey management operations.Ability to be flexible and work, at times, in a fast-paced environment, where a quick turnaround time on information requests is required.University Degree (postgraduate required) and studies in a relevant field, such as: international security, intelligence, international relations, political science, diplomacy.Demonstrated expertise and knowledge of security and political issues in one of the following regions: MENA, APAC, Europe CIS, Sub-Saharan Africa, Americas.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with full professional proficiency in both English and Italian.Demonstrated interest in the field of geopolitics, security risk management, and intelligence.Excellent analytical and research skills, both qualitative and quantitative.Willingness to work on-site on a shift pattern, which includes nights, weekends, and public holidays.Being detail-oriented and having the ability to perform under minimal supervision.Having excellent digital literacy, with full professional proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.Being a team player and having a proactive approach.Preferential Requirements:Experience living and working abroad, as well as interacting with people from a different cultural background.Expertise in performing OSINT research and familiarity with the intelligence cycle.Previous experience within the field of geopolitical analysis or in the international security industry (including internships).Background in military or law enforcement.Working knowledge in a foreign language other than English (Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic, Russian, among others).
