Senior Construction Inspector

David Evans and Associates, Inc.is looking to add an experienced Construction Inspector to our Transportation Business Unit based in ourPocatello, ID office. As part of our Construction Engineering Services Group, this position will provide on-site construction inspection and applicable documentation for transportation projects. This includes observation of construction work activities for compliance with plans and specifications, preparation of required contract documentation, and following prescribed Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures.The ideal candidate will also be able to assist and support our Roads & Highway, Bridges and Structures, and Transit and Rail design services groups. Responsibilities: Coordinate, perform, and/or supervise technical engineering work in the field or office. Inspect, observe and ensure a construction project is constructed in accordance with contract plans and specifications. Maintain accurate daily record of the work (labor, equipment, materials, quantities). Identify contract change orders and assist in their preparation/implementation. Communicate effectively with the Contractors, Owners, Construction Manager, Project Engineer, or other field engineering staff. Perform technical calculations and prepare field note records for progress payments. Coordinate for required materials sampling and testing. Assisting in developing design projects for construction. Basic Qualifications: Good knowledge of the practices used and the equipment required on construction projects. Basic computer skills in word and excel, as well as a proficiency in basic math skills. Ability to work effectively with client representatives, contractors, the public, as well as peers and subordinates. Excellent skills in working independently and in a team environment, as well as asking appropriate questions. Effectively multitask and prioritize and track construction issues through to completion. At least 2 years of construction inspection experience working on roadway, bridge, rail, and highway projects preferred. Clean driving record Available to work out of town.
